Personal Information

Title Hakeem Muhammad Tariq Mehmood Ubqari Majzubi Chughtai is known as an expert physician who is also popular in world of Sufism and Tasawwuf, spirituality, serving humanity beyond the limits of cast and creed, religion or sectarianism with teachings on peace, brotherhood, tolerance and good manners. [1]

He was born in Ahmedpur Sharqia, Bahawalpur on November 1, 1967. His father’s name is Hakeem Muhammad Ramzan Chughtai (Rehmatullah). His native town is Ahmedpur Sharqia where his forefathers were residing since centuries and mostly they were associated with the business of trade.

Education

He got basic education from Ahmedpur Sharqia and completed FSC degree from Government Degree College Ahmedpur and started studies of Medical Treatment and Surgery from 1988 to 91 at Government Tibbia College Bahawalpur with higher ranks. He got gold medal there and before that, he got many other prizes and scholarships for his hardwork and good manners.

He wrote a discourse of 2400 pages on the topic of “Method of Treatment” for which he got Century Award in 1991. [1] For promoting teachings of popular Sufi poet and personality of Sufism Hazrat Khawaja Ghulam Fareed (Rehmatullah), he got Khawaja Ghulam Fareed Award in 1999. For his services in research and medical fields, he got various awards and titles. With research on medical subjects, he got PhD degree from USA. [1]

Spiritual Life

In sub-continent, the credit of introducing peace and spirituality and Islam goes to Sufi saints, among these saint was the Fifth century saint and the one who introduced the basics of Sufism, Hazrat Abulfazal Syed Ali Bin Usman Al Hajveri, known as Data Gunj Baksh Rehmatullah. From his off-springs was Hazrat Khawaja Syed Muhammed Abdullah Hajveri (Rehmatullah) who was migrated to Dehli , India from Ghazni and Hajver and than he came to Lahore, Pakistan. Besides being a spiritual personality, he was an outstanding Sufi, Hazrat Hakeem Muhammad Tariq Mehmood Damat Barkataham got spiritual knowledge and practices under his guidance.

Hakeem Tariq Mehmood Chughtai got knowledge and practiced Tasawwuf, spirituality and various knowledges connected to unseen and spirituality under the guidance of Hazrat Khawaja (Rehmatullah) and consequently, Hazrat Khawaja Abdullah Hajveri (Rehmatullah) bestowed him with four popular chains of Tasawwuf including Qadri, Chishti, Sehrwardi and Naqshbandi, with permission and office of his caliph. In the same year, Hazrat Khawaja Abdullah Hajveri (Rehmatullah) travelled to perform Umrah and breathed his last there and was burried in Jannat ul Baqeeh near grave of Syed Usman (R.A). After that various dervaishes of Pakistan, India and Arab bestowed Hazrat Hakeem Tariq Mehmood Chughtai with permission to practice their methods and office of their caliph. Accordingly, he was also bestowed with Khilafat on popular Shazlia chain of Arab which goes to great Sufi Saint Sheikh Abul Hassan Shazli (Rehmatullah). [1]

Services

Sheikh and spiritual mentor of Hakeem Tariq Mehmood had the pain for ailing humanity and serving them which he transferred to Hakeem Tariq Mehmood. From 1984 to present, Hazrat Hakeem Tariq Mehmood is serving humanity in different fields of life without the division of cast and creed. His main identity serving people with good manners and affection with Muslims and non Muslims, medical expert, Tasawwuf (Sufism) and interfaith harmony. Through publications, delivery of speech, lectures, educational, spiritual, financial and physical advice, he is serving humanity. [1]

Publications

Till 2013, he compiled a total of 150 books on different topics and the series of books is continued. These books are based on Sufism, spirituality, history, partition 1947, psychological issues, sexual issues of men and women, physical diseases, tension, anxiety, psychological spiritual and medical issues of women, domestic issues, herbal health, benefits of fruits and vegetables, methods of treatment of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Modern science, magic demons and life of animals and several other subjects. His various books have been translated in different languages and many books are being considered to be studied in Universities.

Ubqari Magazine

The above mentioned subjects on which the books of Hakeem Hazrat Tariq Mehmood base, are actually the problems faced by people in modern age. Besides books, for the solution of these problems for common man, less or more educated, Muslims and non Muslims and national and international levels, Hakeem Tariq Mehmood started a magazine named Ubqari in June 2006 as serving it as Editor in Chief. [1]

Essays and narrations on spiritual, physical, psychological, social and many other issues are published in the magazine which are considered as worth reading by the readers. It is worth mentioning that readers of Ubqari share their experiences, tested remedies, precious stories and spiritual, medical and physical prescriptions which people usually do not share and keep them as secret with them but they share for the sake of serving humanity.

The core issue of present era is peace, interfaith harmony and brotherhood among Muslims and non Muslims, for this issue, the services of Ubqari are worth mentioning. Ubqari is considered the only religious magazine in Pakistan which publishes a column on regular basis on the topic of brotherhood with non-Muslims. For these qualities, Ubqari got popularity across the world in short span of time and now serving as an International Magazine being read by thousands of people belonging to different religions, faiths, casts and creeds.

The circulation of Ubqari has been recorded as 1,18000 copies were published in November 2013 and not single copy of magazine is given as honorary or free. Besides this, the essays of Hakeem Hazrat Tariq Mehmood Chughtai on medical, spirituality and sufism are published in national and international magazines and news papers. Hazrat Hakeem Tariq also wrote an article of over 5500 words on the topic of “Worship Places of Non Muslims, their rights and responsibilities” which got popularity.

Lectures and Sermons

Hazrat Hakeem Tariq Mehmood has established Tasbeeh Khana - Center for Peace and Spirituality for promotion of spirituality, Tasawwuf (Sufism), brotherhood and good manners. This center is naturally established adjacant to the building of the Central Office of National Council for Churches In Pakistan which is also reflective of the peace and interfaith harmony being practiced at the place.[1] In this Tasbeeh Khana - Center for Peace and Spirituality, Hazrat Hakeem Tariq delivers weekly lecture on Thursday after Maghrib prayers on Sufism, spirituality, peace, tolerance, patience and solutions to common problems faced by people today in which thousands of men and women participate belonging to any faith. Besides this, the lecture also goes live through internet for 132 countries and widely attended by people of different religions.

The listeners and participants of the lecture term it as solution to the problems faced by them and they want to listen the lecture again and again and bring their friends and relatives to attend the lecture weekly. The participants share the lecture with others through CDs, cassets, mobile recordings and other mediums of communication while the lectures are also available on the website to download. Those who attend the lecture, feel changes in their lives in terms of remembrance of Allah Almighty, spirituality and meditation and they say that after listening to this lecture, they were introduced to the true essence of Sufism and spirituality.

The lectures, books, articles, advices and tips of Hazrat Hakeem Tariq are also shared for the fans through facebook, twitter and other social networking sites.[2]

Meditation

Sufism and spirituality is considered incomplete without the practice of meditation for this reason, the Center for Peace and Spirituality pays more attention to meditation. It is a fact that besides spirituality, meditation is successful treatment of psychological, physical and mental problems, for this after lecture and Halqa Kashaf Al Mahjoob at Center for Peace and Spirituality, the participants practice Meditation and pray for their progress and prosperity.

In these prayers, the participants pray for Muslims, Jews, Christians, Sikhs, Hindus, Budhists and all other religions for getting peace in heart and the society, every problem, domestic worries and getting rid of terrorism and prosperity in the world and hereafter.

Halqa Kashaf Al Mahjoob

There are thousands of books written on Tassawwuf and Sufism in the world. Among these books, a book written around a thousand years ago - Kashaf Al Mahjoob, is translated in different languages in the world. The book is authored by most well known Sufi saint Abul Fazal Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Al Hajveri popular as Data Ganj Baksh (rehmatullah). The spiritual son of Hazrat Data Ganj Buksh, Hakeem Muhammed Tariq Mehmmod Ubqari Majzubi Chughtai teaches the book every month chapter wise to promote Tasawwuf and peace in the world.

Traveling Lectures

Hazrat Hakeem Tariq Mehmood travels extensively in Pakistan and abroad and continue delivering lectures on various places during his stay and the people belonging to different areas get benefit on various problems, Sufism, spiritual issues and medical advice.

Hazrat Hakeem Tariq has delivered over 900 lectures so far.

Ubqari Trust

With the intention for serving ailing humanity, Hazrat Hakeem Tariq established Ubqari Trust in 2010 beyond the boundaries of religion, faith, cast and creed to provide relief to the destitute and needy on their doorsteps. The trust also serves in situations of natural disasters like floods and earth quakes. [1]
