Symbol opinion vote Comment: You'l need to apy particular attention to finding published sources for his personal (and medical) details. And articles in scientific publications reporting his work are not the same as saying he is important. We need to see coverage about him. Sionk (talk) 18:46, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Ajay Oza (born January 16, 1951) is an Indian physicist who currently works as a professor in [[Sardar Patel University.. He works in the field of solid-state physics and especially in the branch of organic, metal-organic and polymeric conductors.[1][2]

Early life

Oza was born in Virsad village in Kheda district of Gujarat, India to Tansukhray Oza and Damyantiben Oza. He was fully brought-up in Bhavnagar in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. His father was a school teacher and also a hobby artist. Due to financial difficulties he spent most of his boyhood at his maternal grandfather's place. He graduated from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda on a National Science Talent Scholarship along fellowman Venkatraman Ramakrishnan and also obtained his post-graduation from the same university. He acquired his PhD degree from Indian Institute of Science with the help of the same scholarship.

Career

Oza started his work on electrical conductivities of various molecular compounds in the early 80's.[3][4] He also studied their various color bands.[5] He later on worked on the charge transfer complexes in organic donors with the help of infrared spectroscopy.[6][7][8][9] He also studied dielectric properties of various compounds.[10] His project on "Electrical, magnetic and optical properties of low-dimensional Conductors" received a healthy government support.[11]
