Dr. Abdolali Lahsaeizadeh (Persian: عبدالعلی لهساییزاده) (Born December 30, 1951 in Abadan, Iran) is a full time professor of Sociology at the University of Shiraz in Shiraz, Iran. He is also an Author of more than 20 books (Contemporary Rural Iran , Social change in rural Iran , The History and Culture of Davan , Sociology of Abadan ,...) and 50 articles in the Iranian Journals of social sciences (Perspectives on Sociology of Development ,...) and the international social science Journals (Land Reform and Social Change in Rural Iran ,... ).
He received his B.A. in sociology from the National University of Iran in 1975. Continued his education where he received his M.A. from University of Detroit, Detroit, Michigan in 1979 and his Ph.D. in sociology from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan in 1984.
His areas specialties are in Rural Sociology and Sociology of Development. After completing his doctorates he returned to Iran where he was employed by the Department of Sociology at the University of Shiraz. During the time he concentrated in the rural field studied of sociology and published many result of his studies in multiple books and articles. He became a Full Professor since 2003 at the University of Shiraz.
He completed a one year sabbatical at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Canada, and also spent time in Kenya, Africa, and Tokyo, Japan and also in Vancouver, Canada. All results published.
He received an award in 2002 for Excellence in teaching and research at the University of Shiraz, Shiraz, Iran.
He has served on the highest level of the Committee of Education at the University of Shiraz, in Shiraz, Iran. Also served on the Committee of Social Sciences at the college of Social Sciences at Shiraz University in Shiraz, Iran. Serves on the board of 3 additional committees of the Iranian Journal of Social Sciences.
At this time, he serves at Chief Editor of the Iranian Journal of Social Science Study in Shiraz, Iran.
