Westfield Hurstville is the largest shopping centre in the Coordinates: 33°57′58.06″S 151°06′18.23″E / 33.9661278°S 151.1050639°E St George area. It was officially opened in October 1978 by NSW Premier Neville Wran with 120 stores including Waltons, Nock & Kirbys, Coles and Franklins. It was expanded between 1988 and 1990. For a very brief period following this expansion, it was claimed that it was the second largest shopping centre in Australia.
Westfield Hurstville contains 260 retail stores including department stores, supermarkets, two food courts (35 food outlets in total), a car wash, cinemas, an occasional child care centre and small playworld.
