The 94 runs approximately every ten minutes, (depending on traffic), and operates seven days a week. The service usually uses Scania OmniCitys. Around peak times other vehicles may be added.
In 2007 the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive and Centro, with partners National Express West Midlands, signed a voluntary partnership to improve the 934 along with six other routes, (1, 377 (now 77), 451, 993 (now 935) and 997).
In July 2012 the 934, along with many other buses, was re-routed via the new Moor Street Interchange in preparation for the future Midland Metro.
