Urban Empire are a four piece band from the Ribble Valley, Lancashire consisting of Nick Gizzi,Vocals and Guitar, Alex Procter, Guitar and Vocals, Matt Lambe, Bass and Rob Hirst on Drums. Having come together from previous bands, Urban Empire have been writing and gigging for around 18 months and have just recorded their first EP.They have been on BBC Radio on numerous occasions, and have been recognised by XFM's Clint Boon and Twisted Wheel after winning a battle of the bands in 2011 at Oldham Library. Their signature artwork and monochrome wardrobe combined with vintage valve stage presence and sound, borders on Bauhaus Chic.
This visual representation suits their sound: a moody but melodic brand of indie rock heavily influenced by the more Edgier acts like BRMC, Interpol, Joy Division and the Editors, but still sounding distinctively like Urban Empire.
Urban Empire will be making various appearances over the summer of 2012, including the main stage at The Beat Herder Festival in Gisburn Lancashire.
