The Tbilisi Flying Khatchapuris are a recreational ultimate team based in Tbilisi, Georgia. The team consists of a mix of expatriates and Georgian nationals. Games are regularly held at the Tbilisi Hippodrome. The Flying Khatchapuris are believed to be the first Ultimate club in the Caucasus, and promote the sport's development in the region.
The Flying Khatchapuri logo consists of a borjgali surrounded by the text "Flying Khatchapuris - Tbilisi - მფრინავი ხაჭაპურები".
Baku vs. Tbilisi (2010)
In 2010 the Baku Evil Eyes, an ultimate team from Baku, came to Tbilisi to compete against the Khatchapuris. The game took place at the Tbilisi Hippodrome, and the Flying Khatchapuris were easily defeated. This year also marked the beginning of the beer game, a second ultimate game following the competitive event in which all players were required to hold a beer in their hand throughout the game.
Baku vs. Tbilisi (2011)
The second annual competition took place between Baku and Tbilisi on May 7, 2011 at the Tbilisi Hippodrome. The Flying Khatchapuris were able to tie the game late at 14-14, but Baku's superior speed and technical ability eventually led them to a close victory, 16-14.
The "Enthralla in Avchala" (2012)
The third international game played by the Flying Khatchapuris took place June 16, 2012 at Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi, Georgia. After falling down 10-4 to the Baku Evil Eyes, Tbilisi rallied to take the lead 13-11. Baku responded with a run of their own, and led 15-14, needing only one score to defeat the Khatchapuris for the third straight year. In dramatic fashion, Tbilisi rallied once more and scored three straight points to win the game 17-15. It was the first international victory for the Flying Khatchapuris.
