Swaroop Khan is an Indian folk singer belonging to Langa family in Jodhpur.

Early life

Swaroop Khan was born to a folk singer in a small village near by Jodhpur. The only profession of the people of this and neighbouring village is singing. Likewise, Swaroop's parents too are deeply associated with singing. Swaroop learned singing from his parents and even plays Khadtal and Morchang. He learned a wide range of traditional folk songs and Sufi music from his father.


Swaroop Khan participated in Indian Idol 5 at the age of 19. He performed above expectations but was eliminated after facing public votes in second last episode on 3rd August 2010. Post Indian Idol, Bappi Lahiri, signed him on for title song in the forthcoming movie Emotional Atyachar. The recording took place at Bappi Lahiri's studio July 24th.[1]. He has sung Emotional Atyachar title song along with Bappi Lahiri.
