State management, or sometimes called state control, as a neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) technique is the act of actively trying to control the emotional and mental state of an individual. One method to actively achieve state management anchoring where an individual associates a particular physical stimulus. It is used as both a self help method [1] and a therapeutic hypnotherapy technique [2]
