Robert A. Kindler was born in New York, NY to parents Joan and Lawrence Kindler. His brother Andy Kindler is a standup comedian and actor. His eldersister Janette Kindler is a retired Assistant Principal. Robert attended Bayside High School where he played the flute. He later went on to graduate from Colgate University in 1976 and then New York University School of Law in 1980.


Robert began his career in 1980 as an associate at Cravath Swaine & Moore. Kindler is currently the Global Head of Mergers and Acquisitions and Vice Chairman of Morgan Stanley.[1]
