Born in 1986 to my esteemed parents Rav David and Mrs. Poline Shofet (may they live happily and healthy until 120) in Los Angeles, California I began my journey. I attended Yeshiva Gedola of Los Angeles for high school and departed thereafter for a year abroad at Mercaz Hatorah institute in Jerusalem, Israel. I returned to America to resume my studying at Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Baltimore, Maryland where I received my Semicha (Rabbinical Ordination) from the Rosh Yeshiva (headmaster)-Rav Aaron Feldman as well as my bachelors in Talmudic Law. During my stay in Baltimore I also attended the Johns Hopkins University Undergraduate Business School where I received my B.S. in Business and Management. And then having an additional opportunity I attended Georgetown University Graduate School of Professional Studies in Real Estate. Then, the next best thing happened to me. Thank g-d following my years of studies I met my lovely wife Jennifer Golian in 2010 and moved away to Jerusalem. There I had the privilege to excel my studies with R’ Eli Entebe in the laws of conducting and officiating a Jewish Wedding. I also had the opportunity to practice the beautiful mitzvah of Brit Milah (Jewish Ritual Circumcision) under the guidance of the transcendent Rav Yosef Oren (e-mail me for stories about him). Following my certification of Milah, I meticulously studied the great works of Safrut (scribing e.g. writing Mezuzot) under the supervision of Rav Gilead Tzedek. During all these incredible experiences I also had the opportunity to learn techniques in various Maqamot (melodic modes) under the great Hazzan Yigal Ben Haim (the teacher of the original Sephardic Hazzanim in Israel). Subsequently, after the honeymoon we returned to Los Angeles, California where I humbly offer all of my expertise and give an attractive class every Thursday night at Nessah Synagogue.[1]
