Pooja Bose is an Indian television actress.[2][3] She is well known for playing Vrinda in the popular show Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna which aired on Star Plus. She was a contestant on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2014 and was working in Comedy Nights Bachao. She was a contestant in Bigg Boss the Bengali version in 2016. She was also seen on Dance Ki Takkar in 2014.

Early Life

Bose hails from Kolkata. She finished her schooling at the St. Paul’s Mission School and subsequently graduated from the Scottish Church College in Kolkata.[4] [5] Bose has wanted to be an actress for as long as she can remember, as she told Washington Bangla Radio.[6] She changed her name from Bose to Banerjee after her divorce.[2]

Personal Life

Bose has been dating TV actor Kunal Verma whom she met on the sets of Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna.[7] They both are set to get engaged very soon in August 2017.[8][9] Pooja said “I am very happy. We have been in a relationship for 9 years and are finally getting engaged. I never thought that something like this would happen in the 9th year of our relationship, but ho gaya. I think 9 is a lucky number for me.” She then said "Kunal and I will be getting engaged on August 16th next month and then we will decide the wedding date."[10]


After starting her television career with Kahaani Hamaaray Mahaabhaarat Ki, Banerjee was seen in the romantic show Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna, in which she played the role of a simple Punjabi girl, Vrinda.[11]

She has also acted in a Telugu film titled Veedu Theda.[12] She made her debut in the film Macho Mustanaa with Hiran Chatterjee (formerly called Macho Mustafaa, but the title was changed due to objections from Muslim clerics regarding the use of the word "Mustafaa".[13] She won a role in Raja Chanda's film Challenge 2 starring Dev Adhikari and Sujit Mondal's film Rocky starring Mahaakshay Chakraborty. Another unconfirmed movie is Diwana Holo Mon opposite Hiran Chatterjee.

Bose participated in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (season 7), where she was credited as Puja Bose. Her choreographer was Rajit Dev who is the chief choreographer to Vaibhavi Merchant.[14] In November 2014 later, Puja participated in another dance reality show Dance Ki Takkar (season 2).[15][16]

After getting eliminated from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, Banerjee is looking forward to work in Bollywood. In 2015, Puja was seen in the Colors popular comedy show Comedy Nights Bachao. She later played a cameo role in Zee TV's popular show Qubool Hai. She participated in the Bengali version of the reality show, Bigg boss, Indian version of Celebrity Big Brother in 2016. She got eliminated after staying for a month in the house.[17]
