Promise is the upcoming fourth studio album by American rapper Soulja Boy. As of October 2011, set to be released in 2013.[2] On October 18, 2011, he released his debut documentary called Soulja Boy: The Movie. It was released through Stacks on Deck Entertainment, Collipark and Interscope Records. Soulja Boy will now release the album with Collipark Records, like his 1st and 2nd albums. His previous album, The DeAndre Way, was not released through Collipark Records, and experienced disappointing album sales. Soulja Boy announced the name of the album and its cover. The album will feature guests stars like DJ Khaled, Big Sean, Birdman, Cash Out, Lil Wayne, Sean Kingston, Mishon, Busta Rhymes and 2 Chainz.

Background and composition

In the year 2011 Soulja Boy dropped around nine confirmed mixtapes according to, XXL Magazine, and Datpiff. Those mixtapes include Smooky, Juice, Bernard Arnault, 21 E.P., The Last Crown, Supreme, Skate Boy, Gold on Deck, 50/13, Mario & Domo vs. the World (with Young L) and Gucci & Gold. Several tracks has been co-produced (behind the scene) by "Sherman de Vries" also known as "Icefromsxm Beats" Local producer/ composer from "St. Maarten". Soulja Boy released a mixtape preceding the album called The Last Crown. It has Big Sean, French Montana and Lil B as guests on the mixtape. [3] Soulja Boy has also dropped a recent mixtape called "Juice 2" prior to his "Juice" mixtape early 2011. "Juice 2" mixtape brings a collection of brand new material, music, and a more mature outlook on life. The mixtape features D. Flores(SODMG), & Lil Durk(GBE), & upcoming rising star Chief Keef.


He made a song with Big Sean called "Love Money" which was also leaked on June 20, 2011 and featured on the The Last Crown mixtape.[4]. The song was unfinished. Soulja Boy announced he would be including his protege, Arab, who left the group for unknown reasons. So he started his own record label called Boss Money Records. On June 16, 2012 Soulja Boy on Twitter announced the return of Arab. Ja-Bar, who is with Universal Motown and Stack on Deck Money Gang with Soulja Boy will also be included on the album. The official cover art was designed by Yu-Era ( He made a song for the album featuring Game.[5] Four days later, the song was titled "Too Faded", and released as the album's first promo single on February 6, 2012.[6] It was produced by XavBeatz. It also turns out that the single was meant to be for his most recent mixtape OBEY. "Love Money" is rumored to be adding a verse from Birdman. In a recent DJ Skee interview, Game, Waka Flocka Flame, Detail, Busta Rhymes and DJ Khaled was confirmed to appear on Promise. Soulja Boy said that his upcoming album, "Promise", has the "sound" of a multi-platinum album. And he also said that he guarantees "growth & maturity" on his album. [7] [8]
