Prince Christian of Hanover (Christian Heinrich Clemens Paul Frank Peter Welf Wilhelm-Ernst Friedrich Franz), Duke of Brunswick; German: Christian Prinz von Hannover, Prinz von Großbritannien und Irland, Herzog zu Braunschweig) was born on 1 June 1985 in Hildesheim, Lower Saxony, West Germany. Christian is the second eldest son of Prince Ernst August of Hanover and Chantal Hochuli. Christian is a great-great-great-great-great grandson of King George III of the United Kingdom.

Christian has an older brother Ernst August and a half sister Alexandra. He is in the line of succession to the British throne and second in line to the titular throne of Hanover.

Early life

Christian was christened on 14 July 1985 at Schloss Marienburg. His godparents are Prince Heinrich Julius of Hanover, Prince Clemens of Croÿ, Paul Schenker, Frank Hochuli, Count Peter Seilern, Prince Welf Henry of Hanover, Baron Wilhelm Ernst von Cramm, and Friedrich Franz, Hereditary Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Prince Christian of Hanover was educated in prestigious Malvern College.
