The website http://phuket-it.net was founded by Rob Richardson in Janurary 2013, initially to aide his searching for IT based work the Phuket area.
However, since creating the landing page, which contained only a covering letter, skill summary, contact form and other social media links, he has planned to expand this to other useful functions. One feature (which is currently in development) will be the release of sample corporate user documentation for common office applications. Unlike 'Help' files you find within applications, or indeed most online assistance, these instructional documents are concise and to the point. Over several years supporting applications such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft Outlook, it became obvious (based on trial and error and extremely positive feedback) that rather than waste a users time explaining in length how to perform a function, a quick shorthand example was preferred. All of these documents will be available to download for free and can be customised for corporate branding with ease.
Another feature (also currently in development) that will be live on http://phuket-it.net soon, is the Phuket IT Jobs Forum. Finding work in Phuket for foreigners seemed to be a lot about who you know and can be a bit tough for anyone wanting to start out in an up and coming IT area. Getting your name out there can also be costly, adverts are free on some websites, but tend to be limiting in content (no website address allowed, etc) or require a costly fee. The idea is to create a forum of IT services required and IT services offered, all for free to those who wish to use it.
