Paul Williams was born in England but grew up in Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe. He is most known for his works as an author.


He completed his PhD in English at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and has lived and taught in South Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the USA. In 2001 his mystery novel The Secret of Old Mukiwa won the Zimbabwe Book Publishers Association prize for young adult fiction. Until recently he has been Professor of English and Humanities at South Florida Community College in the USA.

His latest book is Soldier Blue, a coming-of-age memoir set against the backdrop of the Rhodesian bush war of the 1970s. It is published by David Philip Publishers/New South Africa Books, South Africa, 2008.
