Patrick Varming (Pronounced Pat-rick Var-ming) is a locally famous Farmer from Calgary, Alberta. He generously funded the fixing of the Cane Toad Removal Program (CTRP) in 1893. (9 years before the oil boom) Because of this, the city is now a popular tourism hotspot. And has survived the crisis.


Patrick spent most of his time tending to his livestock. Which include, Sheep, Cows and Geese


In 2003 they erected a life-size monument in the Environmental Service Centre in his honour. This statue is a worthy tribute to the man that saved the town and helped improve the economy via tourism.
