Pakistan Association for Difficulties in Learning (PAIDAL) is a campaign to spread awareness, create acceptance and gather support for the Slow Learners on the platform of FRESH (Foundation for the Rehabilitation and Education of Slow Children).PAIDAL was officially launched on 1st April 2012 at The Green Meadows School, Lahore.PAIDAL aims to spread awareness about the need to integrate the slow learners as equal members of the society.
PAIDAL is an awareness campaign to create acceptance and gather support for slow learners, by preparing the society to accept the problem of learning difficulties as a reality among children. The concept behind PAIDAL is that children with learning difficulties are ‘normal and not special’. PAIDAL seeks to create tolerance, acceptance and accommodation for slow learners. It seeks to tap into all sectors of the society and to inform people what learning difficulties are, create consciousness about them and how to identify them among children.PAIDAL works to develop learning and social skills of slow learners and drop outs and wants society to be tolerant enough to understand a natural academic shortcoming in these children and to know that their difficulties can be combated. Those slow in learning should eventually be equipped with basic life skills such as reading, writing and speaking, and the areas where their aptitude is more should be developed so they can work according to their capacities as independent, contributive and normal members of society. PAIDAL deals with creating awareness about slow learners; children with Dyslexia,Attention Deficit Disorder,Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Dyspraxia and Dyscalculia.
