Nigaar Khan (born circa 1978/1979)[1] is an Indian television actress mainly known for her portrayal of negative characters.[2][3] She is the elder sister of model-actress Gauhar Khan.[4][5] She is well known for playing Roshni Varun Singh in the Star Plus popular show Ghar Aii Hamari Pyaare Bahu. She was a contestant on Bigg Boss 8 in 2014.


In 2008, Khan participated in the dancing competition show Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena.[6] Their dance in one of the episodes on the song "Woh Ladki Hai Kaha" (Dil Chahta Hai) was well appreciated by the judges, Sushmita Sen and Wasim Akram, and the audience.[7]

In 2011, the reality TV show The Khan Sisters focused on the lives of Khan and her sister Gauhar. The following year Khan appeared in the show Sacch Ka Saamna. She also hosted the show Love Story,[8] showcased some love stories of Bollywood. Khan presented the stories and interviewed various celebrities.[9]

In 2013, Khan appeared on the reality show Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan-Nawaazi Ki.[10][11] Since September 2013, Khan has appeared in the mythological show Buddha based on life of Gautama Buddha. She plays the role of Buddha's aunt and Devadatta's mother.Now she is replaced.[12] She is well known for playing the role of Roshni in Ghar Aii Hamari Pyaare Bahu. She is now coming back to play the negative role of Priya in Shagun...Ek Dujje Ki Liye.

In November 2014, Nigaar participated in Bigg Boss 8 as wild card entrant. She survived only for a week where she got evicted in week 9 as she failed to do well like her sister Gauhar Khan did in Bigg Boss 7.[13] She became the wild card contestant and got eliminated in semi-finale in the second season of dance reality show Dance Ki Takkar from 2014-2015.

In June 2016, she made a comeback on television in the children's show Baal Veer on SAB TV as an evil fairy called Prachandika to create hurdles in the life of Baal Veer as her sister Virus was killed by Baal Veer.
