Nia Sharma (born Neha Sharma on 17 September 1990)[1] is an Indian television actress.[2] She started her acting career in 2010 with the show Kaali - Ek Agnipariksha playing Anu. She is recognized for her roles in the shows Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai as Maanvi (2011-2013).[3][4], Ghar Aii Hamari Pyaare Bahu as Sneha (2014)[5], Jamai Raja as Roshni (2014-2016)[6][7] and Pyaar Aur Rang Sajnewali Hai as Arushi (2016). She was a contestant in Dance Ki Takkar 4 in 2016.[8][9] Nia has also been a contestant in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2017 and ended being amongst the top 5 finalists.[10]

Early Life & Personal Life

Nia Sharma was born on 17 September 1991 in Delhi. She was a student of JIMS Rohini, Delhi. She completed her graduation in Mass Communication from there. Her real name is Neha Sharma but she changed as she found it common and even her father doesn't know that. She is the youngest child of their family. She has one elder brother. She is very close to her mother just like her best friend.

Sharma was ranked No. 3 in the Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women List by British-based Eastern Eye newspaper.[11][12]

Nia was approached for Bigg Boss 11 but she refused the offer.

Career

Sharma began her television career on the serial Kaali- Ek Agnipariksha. She made her next move with the serial Behnein. She played a cameo role in the reality show The Player. As Maanvi in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain, she played a variety of characters in a range of contemporary romantic drama to comedies to emotional shades. She plays a character suffering from cancer and is the first Indian television actress to go bald for an onscreen role as a cancer patient.[13][14] Sharma was ranked No. 5 in the Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women List by Eastern Eye.[15]

In May 2014, Nia came back to play the role of Sneha Kapadia in popular show Ghar Aii Hamari Pyaare Bahu, but later in August she got replaced by Suhasi Goradia Dhami.[16] In 2014, she bagged the main lead for Zee TV's Jamai Raja and played Roshni opposite Ravi Dubey but two years later she quit the show.[17] Later Nia played the role of Arushi in Life OK's Pyaar Aur Rang Sajnewali Hai as Arushi opposite Karan Dahiya.

In 2017, Nia participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi season 8. She was eliminated first on 6th August but later returned as wild card. Later getting eliminated again on 27th August, she made a comeback on 3rd September but again got chance to stay in the show.[18][19][20]

Recently it was announced Nia Sharma to play the female lead role again in Vikram Bhatts' sequel of the Web series Twisted, to go on floors from January 2018[21] In October 2017, Sharma played the role of Kriti in Colors TV's Luv Ishq.
