Mrunal Thakur is an Indian actress who appears in Indian soap operas and Marathi films.[2] She is best known for playing the role of Sakshi in 4 Lions Films criminal investigation television series Arjun. She was seen playing the roles of Bulbul in Kumkum Bhagya and Purvi in Sapne...Ki Ek Chhal. She was a contestant on Dance Ki Takkar in 2016. Currently, she is seen in Ghar Aii Hamari Pyaare Bahu as Kanika Varun Singh replacing Karishma Tanna.[3] She was a contestant in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss in 2016.

Personal life

Mrunal was born in a Marathi family on 1 August 1992 in [Nagpur]. She has a younger brother and elder sister. She is currently dating director Sharad Tripathi.


While studying in college she was roped in a Star Plus show Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan opposite Mohit Sehgal as Gauri Bhosle. After khamoshiya, she got a chance to play the role of a journalist on star plus show Har Yug Mein Ayega Ek Arjun.[4][5] She also hosted a Hindi play called Do Fool Chaar Mali along with co-host Barun Sobti, which was directed by Manoj Verma and Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon? team members and it took place in Dubai on 20 April 2013.[6] Mrunal was later seen in Ekta Kapoor's Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV where she played Bulbul in 2014. However, she has quit the show to be replaced by Kajol.[7][8]

In 2015, she was participating in Nach Baliye 7 and later became a contestant in Dance Ki Takkar 4. She played the lead role as Purvi in the popular Life OK show Sapne Ki Ek Chhal opposite Varun Kumar in 2016, but she decided to quit the show for films and got replaced by Chhavi Pandey. Later she participated in Bigg Boss 10 as wild card but got evicted few weeks after.
