Momoka Ariyasu (有安 杏果 Ariyasu Momoka?, born March 15, 1995) is a Japanese idol singer. She is known as a member of the female musical group Momoiro Clover Z.

Biography

Momoka was born in Saitama Prefecture. Already at one year of age, she started working as a baby magazine model. Later, she was represented by the talent agency Carotte C&T and worked in many commercials and on television.[2]

Since 2004, Momoka Ariyasu regularly appeared in the children's television show Ponkikkids on Fuji TV as a member of the group Sisters Rabbit. Around the same time, she entered EXPG, the boy band Exile's kids dance and vocal school. There she acted as a kid dancer for the band and also received acting lessons.[3]

On November 1, 2008, Aryiasu transferred to the agency Stardust Promotion. On February 2, 2009, she joined the agency's female idol group P-A (Power Age).[4] The group was formed of elementary to high school students and had existed since 2005, but it was towards the very end of its existence when Momoka joined.[5] In 3 months, in May, Power Age was disbanded. On July 26, 2009, she was added to the group Momoiro Clover that was about to release its first indie single.

On November 9, 2012, Momoka Ariyasu's video comment was projected during Hige Danshaku's live comedy show at Moliere Theater in Shinjuku, Tokyo. It was revealed that Hige Danshaku was a big fan of Momoka and even named his recently born daughter after her Momoka (百夏?, a homonym, written with different kanji, but pronounced the same).[6]

Momoka Ariyasu's Momoiro Clover image color is green.[7] At 148 cm (4′10″), she is the shortest member of the group.[8] Her self-introduction phrase is: "A wee bit silly little big performer" (ちょっぴりおバカな小さな巨人?). While she claims that she is stupid, that at school she does not understand fundamental things and cannot remember anything, other members claim that she actually studies all the time, even backstage.[9] She explains that it is because she is stupid that she has to study hard. Her favorite subjects are English, mathematics and Japanese.[9]
