Personal Life

Sehgal with his wife and actress Sanaya Irani at his wedding

Mohit Sehgal was born in Chandigarh, Punjab, but was brought up and received his schooling in Delhi. Upon finishing his education, he graduated from a College and eventually moved to Mumbai.

On 25th January 2016, he married his long time girlfriend Sanaya Irani in Goa to whom he fell in love during the shooting of Miley Jab Him Tum[4]

Mohit, began his acting career in 2007 as Vicky, a college boy in the movie Delhi Heights. Mohit then made his television debut as a protagonist in STAR One's Miley Jab Hum Tum. He portrayed the character of Samrat, the loud, wealthy and flamboyant hottie, and the love interest of Gunjan Bhushan (Sanaya Irani). Additionally, he briefly hosted the second series of Zara Nachke Dikha Season 2 on STAR Plus with Sanaya Irani.[5]

After the end of Miley Jab Hum Tum, Mohit took a break. In 2012, Mohit starred in a comedy film titled, Family Aa Rahi Hai . Mohit's next major television role was as Siddharth Kapoor, the male protagonist of Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan, which premiered on 12 November 2012. However, Mohit decided to quit the show, stating various reasons for his decision. The show was already under the scanner due to its poor ratings and hence, it had to be replaced by Saraswatichandra on 25 February 2013. Mohit played the role of Haider Sheikh, the new lead in Zee TV's popular show Qubool Hai opposite Ketki Kadam.[6][7] Haider is a mature and charming man with a secret who brings in a lot of ambiguity in the equation that Zoya shares with Siddiqui family. He also participated in the dance show Dance Ki Takkar - Season 1 on Star Plus in 2014.[8] He entered as a wild card entrant but later got voted out in 13th week with Sharad Malhotra.[9] In 2015, Mohit's next was Sarojini - Ek Nayi Pehal which he played the lead role as Somendra Singh opposite Shiny Doshi.[10]

In 2016, Sehgal came back with &TV's Shakti - Ek Zindagi Ek Pyaar opposite Pooja Gaur as Karan. In 2017, he came back with Star Plus's Sapnon Ki Pyaar Aur Mohabbat Hai (Third Season of the popular show Sapnon Hai Pyaar Ki Kahaani) as Jai Singh replacing Karan Dahiya who played the character in Season 2. He was paried opposite Kalash actress Aparna Dixit. He left the show in May.[11]
