Magdalena Lankosz née Magdalena Michalska (born 9 November 1979 in Warsaw) is a Polish journalist contributing to Gazeta Wyborcza, Wysokie Obcasy and Magazyn Filmowy. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her husband, a film director Borys Lankosz.


She graduated from Faculty of Polish Studies at University of Warsaw in 2003. After graduation she continued her researches on XIX-century literature and culture, leading popculture and literature courses for students of University of Warsaw and University of Social Sciences and Humatities.


Recently she lives and works in Los Angeles, California contributing to Gazeta Wyborcza, Wysokie Obcasy and Magazyn Filmowy.

Lankosz started journalist career when she was 19. Since then her articles had been published in Polish major newspapers and magazines including Gazeta Wyborcza, Polityka, "Pani" and "Film". She has been a Head of Film Department in "Kultura" magazine in Poland from 2006 till 2010. During that time she combined responsibilities of magazine editor, film critic and a reporter travelling to the most important film events in the world including Cannes Film Festival, Berlinale and Venice Film Festival.

She also hosted a TV show "Ticket to Cinema" with Tomasz Raczek broadcasted by nFilmHD Channel and made frequent appearances in other TV shows and TV debates dedicated to cinema and culture.[1][2]

While in USA Lankosz focused more on feminist and social issues, but continues to cover movie business and doing interviews with filmmakers both for newspapers and TV.[3][4]
