Lucy Johnston is a British journalist, currently Health Editor for the Sunday Express and previously a staff reporter and investigative journalist with The Observer.

Early life

She was educated at Culford School, Suffolk between 1977 and 1987 and began her career as news editor and then associate editor of The Big Issue which she helped to launch.

Awards and recognition

She won a commendation from the International Federation of Journalists for her 1998 article "Barred from Animals Kingdom" (published in The Observer)[1]; and a 2001 'Genesis Award' from the Humane Society of the United States for her Daily Express article on pharmaecutical companies, "Terrible Despair of Animals Cut Up in the Name of Research".[2]
