Like Lions started when Spokane native Patrick O'Neill (b. 1989) moved to Seattle and hooked up with local producer/musician Ben Kersten. In early 2009 they started recording what would become Like Lions debut record "All Be Fine." With the help of some very talented friends the guys did all the albums tracking at Ben's studio, Mysterious Red X in Seattle. Recording, and mixing continued through most of 2009 and early 2010. After a 2 year hiatus the guys reconvened and in 2012 finally finished what they had started. The album is going to be released in March 2013, both digitally and on 12 inch vinyl.
On December 19, 2012 Like Lions released a version of the popular Christmas song "Silent Night."
All Be Fine
The "All Be Fine" project started back in 2009 when Patrick O'Neill brought a handful of songs and a group of friends to Mysterious Red X studio to do some recording with Engineer/Producer Ben Kersten. What started as basic sessions for an EP quickly turned into the all out recording of a full length record, packed with rich texture, from short cleverly arranged neo-psychedelic pop-rock tracks to sweeping cinematic epics. After a year of tracking everything from drums and guitar, to trombones and vibraphones the guys spent two years on and off mixing, while also adopting the moniker Like Lions. In late 2012 mixing was finished and the record was mastered by Rick Fisher at RFI Mastering Studio in Seattle, WA, and then sent to Gotta Groove Records in Cleveland, OH to be pressed to vinyl. After three years, Like Lions are happy to present their debut record, All Be Fine.
Like Lions is Patrick O'Neill and Ben Kersten along with the help of many talented musicians, including Erik Walters, Marcus Ourada, Lucas Erler, Scott Blue, Sarah Standard and Sean McCotter.
