Larry E. Masters is an American computer programmer and founder of the CakePHP framework.
Larry is a long standing veteran in the Open Source community, in particular with PHP, and has been active in software development for many of the past 22 years.
His first contributions to the community were to PHP-Nuke and the Exchange project, which was later renamed to osCommerce. Prior to developing the CakePHP framework and starting the Cake Software Foundation, he was a core developer for the popular PostNuke content management system, now known as Zikula.
In May 2005 he went on and founded the CakePHP project, and has served as a lead developer ever since.
Larry served his country in the United States Marine Corps, where he was stationed as an engineer in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
