Jon Pastor is an American entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of Rent Jungle, a search engine for house and apartment rentals, and Community Elf, a social media marketing company. He lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania[1].

Background

Pastor grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned a Bachelors degree in Chemistry and Economics from Case Western Reserve University in 2000 and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2006[2]. He was also a Fulbright scholar at Japan’s Kobe University from 2000 to 2001[3].

Career

Pastor’s previous experience includes 6 years as a marketing and strategy consultant at McKinsey & Company in Pittsburgh, PA and 2 years as a Product Manager at Microsoft and Google[4][2]. He founded Rent Jungle, a search engine for the apartment and rental housing sector, in 2009 along with co-founders Rick Ferris and Geng Wang [3]. Rent Jungle has received press attention by publications such as the Pittsburgh Business Times[5], Pop City Media[6], Mashable[7] and others[8]. The company was recognized as a Webby Official Honoree in 2011[9][10]. Pastor also founded Community Elf, a social media marketing company, in the summer of 2011[11][5].

Pastor has been interviewed by online film distribution platform and Web Television Network Film Annex [2] and the Pittsburgh Business Times[3]. He was also a 2012 honoree in Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 under 40 list[1].
