FANDOM James Haggerty McNeiece, (born January 28, 1952), is an American singer/songwriter born and raised in Northville, Michigan. James learned to play music on the 12-string guitar at the age of 8 and began writing his own compositions at 11. While enjoying all genres of music, he was particularly moved by the works of artists such as Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Elton John and Billy Joel. During the 1980's, James avoided listening to other artists music hoping to "starve" his creativity and force his songwriting, (from the boredom), onto a different musical path. " I think it worked to some degree", stated James, " but not to the extent I intended or expected. I mean it did move my songwriting in different directions, but then I had alot of listening catch-up to do...the 80's music you know".

While principally playing and composing on the 12-string guitar, he also plays and writes songs for piano. Stylistically rooted in "folk/rock", his music ranges from ballads to rock tempo, embracing touches of country, jazz, folk with contemporary love songs. Currently he lives in a cottage overlooking a lake in Traverse City, Michigan.
