Isleworth is approximately 600 acres (2.4 km2) and has more than seven miles (11 km) of shoreline. A par-72 golf course was conceived by Arnold Palmer, designed by Ed Seay and later enhanced by Steve Smyers and measures 7,544 yards (6,898 m) from the back tees. The course is consistently ranked the longest and toughest course in the state by the Florida State Golf Association (FSGA).
The 2½-acre short-game practice facility includes a putting surface that measures more than 11,000 square feet (1,000 m2) and bunker complexes replicating those at TPC Sawgrass and Augusta National, allowing members to practice on different textures of sand.
Isleworth also features an 89,000-square-foot clubhouse with casual and fine dining facilities, a fitness room, a large ballroom, locker rooms and outdoor terraces. The 7,000-square-foot Champions Grill features a golf simulator, half-court basketball, indoor putting green, pool table, poker tables, arcade-style games and 10 plasma screen televisions. Year-yound youth programming is available to more than 200 children under the age of 18 who reside in Isleworth.
Isleworth was founded in 1986 by Arnold Palmer, Mark McCormick, founder of IMG, and a group of investors. The community was sold in 1993 to Tavistock Group, who redeveloped the community to feature estate-style homes.
Isleworth is recognized as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses.
