The Hub Mall shooting occurred at 12:10 AM on June 15, 2012 at the Hub Mall on the University of Alberta Campus in Edmonton, Alberta. Employees of security company G4S were making a delivery of cash to ATM machines when they were ambushed and shot by their co-worker, Travis Baumgartner.
The shootings killed G4S security guards Brian Ilesic, 35, Michelle Shegelski, 26, and Eddie Rejano, 39, and critically wounded Matthew Schuman. The suspect, 21 year old Travis Baumgartner has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. He is scheduled to go on trail in September 2013.
Baumgartner was arrested the next day in British Columbia when he attempted to cross the border into the United States. Police say he was carrying more than $300,000 in cash in his truck.
