Lady's Bridge and the Hancock and Lant building in the background

Hancock and Lant was a Sheffield, England, based furniture store.

The firm was created in 1933 and was based in Castle House near Lady's Bridge along the River Don in Sheffield city centre. The Hancock and Lant building, as it is also referred to, is a local landmark but was sold by the Lant family five years ago and since been incorporated into an apartment development known as a iQuarter.[1]

Hancock and Lant moved to new premises on Queens Road but trade has never been the same since they moved there.[1]

The firm ceased trading on Monday 13 June 2011. Director Jeremy Lant was the third generation of his family to run the furniture store[1] which was well-known and loved for supplying quality beds, sofas and occasional furniture.
