The FunFair Brewing Company is located in the picturesque Nottinghamshire village of Elston just off the A46 near Newark-on-Trent, in the village's public house "the Chequers Inn". Established in 2004 and originally located in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

The brewery was started by Mr. David Tizard (who is the also head brewer) and his partner Ms. Abigail Cutts (who handles the accounts and day to day running of the public house and business). The company employs just 3 other staff to cover both the brewery and the public house, 2 bar staff and 1 apprentice brewer/bar manager. The couple purchased the Chequers Inn in early 2010 after it was closed down and boarded up for over 9 months. In just under a month David with the help of his partner Abigail and lots of family and friends they turned the former Punch Taverns 1860's pub from a dark, dismal state into a bright, cosy and welcoming Free house. The Chequers finally opened it's front door again in June 2010 to the delight of the Villagers of Elston. As the only pub in the village it had been greatly missed and Villagers had been holding pub nights in the Village Hall to keep the spirit of The Chequers alive.

Since they reopened the public house, the rear of the pub has undergone major alterations to facilitate the microbrewery which has enabled the company to increase the breweries out-put significantly over their former Ilkeston site. David Tizard has also begun giving group tours of the brewery to local real ale clubs which can include tastings and a home-cooked traditional pub meal.

The company produces a verity of different ales which include:
