The Fort Bliss shooting was a shooting that took place on September 20, 2010, at Fort Bliss.

Fort Bliss is located close to the Mexican border near El Paso, Texas. The base is the First Armored Division's home.

According to base spokesman Dieter Jester, there was a shooting at a convenience store at Fort Bliss in west Texas that left a man dead and two women wounded. One of the women later died at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. The man was shot and killed by law enforcement officers on the base. It was unclear at the time what the motive for the shooting was, or even if the man or his victims were in the military, or are civilians. The police officers who killed the alleged gunman responded quickly due to the close proximity of their offices.
