Fairwater Rugby Football Club are a Welsh rugby union team based in Cardiff, South Wales. They formed in 1966 applied for and became members of the Welsh Rugby Union. Fairwater RFC are a feeder club for the Cardiff Blues.[2]


Fairwater RFC were founded by Dave Minto, Tim Driscoll, Reg Regan (who was the first chairman) and ex-Newtown boy John Morgan, who had captained the St David's side in the past and had moved to Fairwater. They achieved WRU status in 2000.[3]

The headquarters was set up in the Bulldog public house. The team established four senior teams and a youth side.
