Faaris Parker (born 1978 London) is a prominent British Entrepreneur. A serial web entrepreneur cum movie producer he currently resides between London, Singapore and Los Angeles.
Born in London to his Anglo-Indian mother Maryam Parker (b. 1959) (nee Kazi)and Roland (Rashid) Parker (1934 - 2008). He schooled at Westminster School where he achieved A Levels in Economics, Mathematics and International History. He was admitted to study Law at the London School of Economics but chose to pursue a career in the world of business and was recruited by private equity firm Charterhouse Capital Partners in London.
In 2004, he founded "Big Fish Media" and as Managing Director positioned the company in the Online gaming market with a few successful forays into more traditional gaming sectors. This proved a wise investment, with the online gaming sctor growing by more than 60% in Western Europe between 2003 and 2008.
After growing and then selling Big Fish in 2008 for a reported $11,000,000 to a Canadian conglomerate he moved to Singapore where he founded a new web based business, creating one of the regions largest online property portals. Property Guru grew exponentially between 2008 and 2010. In 2010 it was sold to IProperty, the largest portal in Singapore for a reported S$8,000,000.
Faaris Parker moved back to London in 2010. He is currently involved in film production and has funded movie projects through his production company Zenith.
