Dr Hari Prasad Kovelamudi, M.D, MBBS, an anesthetist & entrepreneur is the CEO-Central Region of the first corporate chain of hospitals in India – the Apollo Hospitals Group. He takes care of the group's operations in the central region including Muscat. He played a key role in transformation of Apollo Hospitals in Apollo Health City, the JCI accreditation, and the Apollo Hospitals-Mayo Clinics deal.

Early life and education

Hari was born in the Hyderabad city of Andhra Pradesh on 13 June 1964. His father Dr. K.V.R Prasad is a reknown physician in the Sitaphalmandi locality of Secunderabad and his mother Poornamamba is a housewife. He did his schooling in the Hyderabad Public School at Begumpet and was a passionate cricketer in his school days. He captained the school team and also represented Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy. Known to be an aggressive opener and a decisive captain, Hari won the hearts of many with his skilled gameplay. He got into the state's best best medical college Gandhi Medical College in sports quota. However, being the son of a prominent doctor, Hari had to quit the sport and pursue his MBBS breaking the hearts of many.
