IndianWatchdogs.com (IWD) is a community discussion forum that focuses mainly on cricket-related debates. IWD was launched in October 2005 by a group of cricket enthusiasts as ihateganguly.com, focussing on the major controversies surrounding Sourav Ganguly in the Indian cricket scene at that time. It later transformed into its current avatar under the name IndianWatchdogs and goes by the slogan "Fostering Healthy Debates." In the month of December, a lot of websites (Cricinfo, The Statesman, Yahoo, IANS, Asian Age, Rediff, Deccan, Hindustan Times, India Times) covered CWD when it transformed from IHateGanguly to its current new incarnation. Its new name reflects the primary duty assumed by the participant members on the forum - to be the watchdogs of everything that signifies the good, bad and the ugly that happens in Indian cricket.
The IWD website contains many cricket related discussion forums, and some that are completely unrelated to cricket too, like IT and Religion forums. The forum is powered by VBulletin. IndianWatchdogs.com boasts a membership of 9,000 members and more than 200,000 posts as of 2 March 2006.
IWD has recently launched its very own Blogsite as well as a weekly newsletter for its members.
The forums are organized in sections according to subject area and managed by teams. Key sections include:
- Cricket Debates
- Member's Articles
- Quzzes, Competitions and Games
- Politics, Religion and Social Issues
- Entertainment(Movies, Music and TV)
- Information Technology
