Cory Jason Chandler (born December 19, 1978) is an American volleyball player and coach. Currently, he is the head boys' volleyball coach at Calabasas High School. In addition, he teaches health. He has previously worked for Mission Viejo High School and Sports Shack Volleyball Club.

Volleyball Career

This is Cory’s 16th year coaching volleyball and his second as a head coach at Calabasas. He has coached and played at all levels which included stints as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Concordia University where he worked side by side with Volleyball great Paula Weishoff and he competed in Puerto Rico’s Superior League. During his four years at Concordia the Eagles went to two Final Fours and one National Championship game. Cory also coached at Laguna Beach Volleyball Club, 951 Elite, Saddleback Valley Volleyball Club and in Sportshack Volleyball Club. He coached both girls and Boys at Saddleback and Laguna Beach. During his time in club, he has numerous SCVA Top Twenty finishes and ONE J.O. Gold Medal. He has also coached his boy’s club team to top Three Finishes at the Boy’s Classic.

Cory has been privileged to have had the opportunities to learn and work with great coaches such as Michael Soylular, Paula Weishoff, Nina Mathies, Marv Dunphy, Mick Haley, Tim Jensen and many more. Without them he would not have had the success that he has had as a coach. He continues to look forward to learning from other in order to better the program and himself. He feels very lucky to have a great coaching coaching staff with Howard Cahn and Matt Simons.

Current Life (2010-Present)

Cory is currently the Health teacher at Calabasas High School and recently was named the Offensive Line coach for the football program. He will continue to help out the girls volleyball program in his free time. He earned is Bachelor of Arts Degree from Concordia University-Irvine, and Teacher credential and Masters in Education from the University of Phoenix.

Personal Life

Cory recently relocated from Hermosa Beach to the Valley with his wife Tracy, daughter Rylie, and two dogs Ty and Kona. He also has a son, Brendin, who is very active with football and basketball.
