Czech embassy in Canberra was accredited to the Cook Islands. Consular agenda in relation to the Cook Islands, falls to the Consulate of the Czech Republic in Sydney. The first Ambassador of the Czech Republic accredited to the Cook Islands was Juraj Chmiel. He received agrément on 29 January 2009. Historically, the first Ambassador to the Cook Islands who has presented credentials (on 27 March 2012) is Hynek Kmoníček. Cook Islands has not accredited embassy to the Czech Republic. Contacts between Governments are sporadic.
The Czech Republic helps to the Cook Islands through its contribution to the 10. The European Development Fund. Cook Islands is interested in assistance in the field of waste water treatment and water supply management. Also interest is the use of Czech technologies, in particular mobile airports and container air traffic control towers.
