The Cobra - WinLDTP (Windows version of Linux Desktop Testing Project) is a set of open source testing tools that uses accessibility libraries to trigger applications' user interface widgets.

Cobra - WinLDTP is based on Assistive technology. VMware Inc have generously open sourced this effort.

The LDTP can generate an "AppMap" by finding out what widgets applications use.[citation needed] The framework can also record test cases by watching what a user clicks.[citation needed] The LDTP framework then uses this "AppMap" and the recorded test cases to test applications. Using this tool, the GUI functionality of an application can be tested in Windows XP SP3, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8 development release. The same set of APIs are compatible with LDTP which runs on Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD and embedded environment Linux GUI Application Testing.[clarification needed]

Cobra - WinLDTP known to work on windows applications like Notepad, VMware Workstation, VMware Player, QT based installers. LDTP can test any accessibility-enabled GNOME application, Mozilla, OpenOffice, any Swing-based Java application and should be able to test Qt 4.8-based KDE applications.

Cobra - WinLDTP is released under MIT license. The LDTP is released under the LGPL.
