Clement Marfo & The Frontline are a seven-piece band, whose music falls under hip-hop, pop, rock, grime and rave genres. The band consists of MC and front-man Clement Marfo, drummer Dion Payne, guitarists Richard Sinclair and Daniel Turnbull, bassist Jonny Douch, keyboard player Stacey Mansell and vocalist Kojo Vihram.

Clement Marfo began as a solo MC in south London and became known on the underground scene for the track ‘Fresh Start’, featuring Melvin Turner and Timz. But Marfo, inspired in part by the ‘Collision Course’ project – a collaboration between hip-hop artist Jay-Z and rock/punk group Linkin Park – wanted to be able to take his music to a bigger stage by combining with a rock-style band. As a result, the group have become known for exciting live performances consisting of a powerful rock sound combined with Marfo’s hip-hop and grime style.

The group worked on their first single ‘Champion’ with producers and writers Matt Marston (Eg White), Iain James (Professor Green, Wretch 32) and Rob Wells (Paloma Faith). It was released under the label Kids. Their tracks since then include ‘Rule the World’ featuring Sway, ‘Mayhem’ featuring Kano and ‘Overtime’ featuring Ghetts, which was their first single under the Warner Bros. label they are currently signed to.

Their next single ‘Champion’ will be released on July 22nd 2012.
