Charlotte Strawbridge is a British singer-songwriter, daughter of television presenter and environmentalist Dick Strawbridge. Her music is described as that of a discontent angel, one who places more importance on texture than purity. Her harmonies and celebrated imperfections attest to her strong belief of the beauty intrinsic in all ugly things.[1] In 2009 she released her first album, Breathed a Song, a collection of soulful ballads written and performed by Charlotte.

Charlotte spent a year in Cuba studying traditional Cuban guitar and song, attended the Folk and Traditional music degree[2] in Newcastle upon Tyne, and whilst on the degree she joined the Sage Gateshead’s community music apprenticeship scheme, where she was a music leader.

Charlotte and her family have also filmed a television series, It's Not Easy Being Green, in which they move to a new home in Cornwall and attempt to live as green a life as possible, using renewable energy and environmentally friendly resources. The first programme was shown on 28 March 2006, on BBC2. A new series started in Spring 2007 in a different format.

Charlotte lists many artists among her influences, notably Fleetwood Mac, Nick Drake, Ane Brun, Paul Simon, Björk, Sufjan Stevens, Joanna Newsom, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Suzanne Vega, Fairground Attraction, Sigur Rós, Laura Veirs, Cat Stevens, Regina Spektor, Yann Tiersen, Black Voices, Fiona Apple, The Detroit Cobras, Lhasa de Sela, Bic Runga, Jolie Holland, Bat for Lashes, Mano Solo, Cyndi Lauper, Belle & Sebastian, Jacques Brel, Amaral, Lampchop, Curtis Mayfield, Vocal Sampling, Ben Harper, Johnny Cash, The Beautiful South, Bebo y Cigala, Facto Delafé, Manu Chao, The Doors, Juana Molina, Lucinda Williams, Sublime, Joni Mitchell, Lead Belly, Maddy Prior, Fionn Regan, Peter Gabriel, Joshua Radin, Cake, David Bowie, Colin Hay, and Antony and the Johnsons.
