Charles Eisenstein is an author and public speaker. His book Sacred Economics revolve around the theme of how invention of money along with abandonment of barter system and gift exchange has led to alienation, competition and need for an economic system predicated on continuous growth. In his recent book The Ascent of Humanity he digs into an even deeper cause, the creation of “the discrete and separate self” and proposes a system of Gift economy.
