Brantford Kinsmen Annual Ribfest(Brantford Ribfest) is an annual ribfest food festival held at Cockshutt Park in Brantford, Ontario.[1] The Kinsmen Club of Brantford organizes the three-day long Ribfest to raise money for charity during a funfilled weekend. [2] Brantford Kinsmen Annual Ribfest was so well attended that it was thought to be The biggest event in Brantford, since Canada Day.[3]

The Kinsmen Club of Brantford first held Ribfest in 2010.

In 2011, the Brantford Ribfest renamed itself as "Brantford Kinsmen Annual Ribfest"— with the logo remaining the same. [4] Initially then called the Brantford's Own Annual Ribfest was changed in 2011 to Brantford Kinsmen Annual Ribfest. It was thought that the change would more reflect the commitment of the Kinsmen Club of Brantford and it's dedication to Brantford and Brant County through community spirit and charity. [5] Also been known as the Telephone City Ribfest, Best Blooming Ribfest.

In 2011, the festival had expanded to include a bigger stage and more well known bands such as Green River Revival and Practically Hip and many others from both Brantford and surrounding areas as well as a free Kids Zone for the youngsters. [6] [7]

Also in 2011 the festival's committee was approached to hold in conjection with Ribfest the Ontario Guild of Town criers competition. This was thought to give a unique opportunity to the spectators attending ribfest that they normally would not have otherwise had experienced.

[8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

Further to the festival expansion in 2011 was the introduction of the Green Program. This was an initiative of the Kinsmen Club of Brantford to improve on the festival while keeping our parks clean through recycling and the use of solar panels at ribfest. [13]

The Brantford Ribfest continually expands their list of things to do and eat at the event through providing more exhibits, live bands, food vendors, and amusement rides. [14]

In August 2011, 22,000 people and 4 rib teams attended the 2nd Brantford Kinsmen Annual Ribfest.
