Bill Slat were a Liverpool rock band who performed around the city, across the UK and Europe for approx 4 years from early 1970-74 playing at The Cavern club approx 30 times. Band members;- John Thompson-Guitar/Lead Vocals, Dave Lorentz-Bass/BVoc, Derek Rose-Lead Guitar/BVoc ** Later replaced by Neil Kearon, Joey Morris-Drums.

The band opened for "Thin Lizzie" at The Cavern Club for "Lizzie's" 1st ever show outside of Ireland and also supported many other national & international acts, most notably, Thin Lizzie, Elephants Memory (John Lennon's NYC Backing Band) The Alex Harvey Band, Managed by "Hal Carter" and Produced by legendary singer "Billy Fury" "Bilf Slat" recorded an EP for CBS in there legendary Denmark Street Studios..
