Ben Williams was born in 1972, in Essex.

He studied at Hull University, before working for Nick Harvey MP.

He was appointed Special Adviser in the Government Whips' Office after the formation of the Coalition Government in 2010 by the Prime Minister, David Cameron.[1][2]

In 2011, he was noted by the Telegraph as being one of the most influential Liberal Democrats. [3]
