Mr Bailie Roderick Scott J.P was a meat dealer in the late 18th and early 19th century. From 1900 Mr Scott was a member of Glasgow Corporation in which he served on served in many committees. Scott who was born in the East End of Glasgow and was a prominent figure in Scotland's meat trade.
Scott lived at number 1 Wellknowe Road, Thorntonhall and had Crag Tower built. He died at sea, while on a voyage to Australia for the benefit of his health on Wednesday 6 December 1922 aged 86.
