Apam is a coastal town and the capital of Gomoa West district in the Central Region of Akanland. As of 2012, Apam has a population of 25,869 people.[1]

Location

Apam is located approximately 45km east of the Central Region capital of Cape Coast.

Tourism

Apam is the site of Fort Lijdzaamheid, a Dutch-built fort which was completed in 1702, which dominates the fishing harbour and town from a rocky peninsula located on the south side of the town.[2]
