Antonio Aakeel is a British television and film actor from Birmingham, England. He is best known for appearing in E4 drama Skins and for his role in the upcoming British crime thriller City of Tiny Lights directed by BAFTA winner Pete Travis.[1]

Early life

Aakeel was born in Wolverhampton, England, and moved around the West Midlands as a child.[2] His passion for performing began after gaining a one line role in a school nativity play.[3] He honed his craft through local theatre[4] and studied Acting before being scouted by an agent.

Career

Antonio won his screen debut in E4's British drama Skins out of 500 candidates who had applied to a nationwide 'Skins needs you' campaign searching for fresh acting talent.[5] He was chosen by Director Charles Martin and appeared in series 3.[6]

He has gained guest-lead roles in BBC series Doctors and most recently drama series Moving On directed by Reece Dinsdale.[7]

In 2015, Antonio filmed a role in Feature film The Contract, directed by Nic Auerbach. [8]

He was next cast as the younger James Floyd in London crime thriller City of Tiny Lights directed by BAFTA winner Pete Travis.[1] The film is currently in post production and due for an international cinematic release in 2017.[9]
